A CDE, as is already known, provides a platform from which it is possible to manage the information related to a specific project or good, in order to gather, manage and disseminate documents and data to a multidisciplinary team through organized processes. The correct implementation of a CDE can improve the efficiency and efficacy of the provided services and adequately meet the requirements specified in the 113337 normative for the management of BIM’s information models.

The concept of “only source of information” of a CDE goes well beyond the project and realization phase of an endeavor: if organized properly, it benefits the management of the construct throughout its whole lifecycle.
